Guided tours are arranged to Glosholm in the summertime, as long as the weather permits. The island was a military area and subsequently the Finnish Border Guard had its premises here for many years, and nature has taken care of itself. Along the southern part you’ll still find trenches, pillboxes and cannons on the island. There are also foundations of former houses. On the southeast side of the island is a stone quarry, which delivered stone to S:t Petersburg. Glosholm is most known for the lighthouse, the model for Tove Jansson’s Moomin house.
